life-styles? Fast, hot, and tastes good is the mental and taste bud motto for many who live and
eat on the go! As a result, many of us live in a constant "Food Fight" knowing to eat right but
hard-pressed to fight the temptation to make unhealthy food choices. It is a daily struggle!

Achieving total health and wellness involves far more than just exercising and eating healthy! Everywhere we turn, we are bombarded with workout programs and the latest dieting fads! Many of us will try this one or that one hoping it will solve our fitness problems. While there are many "fitness" programs out on the market - on the shelf at most of our favorite retailers or available via point, click, purchase and deliver to our doorsteps, ultimately focusing on exercise or diet alone will do little to NO good! Well, diet and exercise must be the key right? Not exactly. The old adage "You are what you eat!" is known to be acceptable and true, however just eating the right foods or focusing on exercising and eating healthy alone will ultimately do you little to NO good in the end!
So what is missing? How can one achieve The Full Spectrum of Total Health & Wellness? Achieving total health and wellness encompasses focusing on the full spectrum of your life first. It is vital that you understand and zero in on all of the key elements of Total Health & Wellness:
Good intentions without having specific intent or focus and taking action greatly diminishes your chances of improving your total fitness, health and well-being! The starting points to improving the total spectrum of your life are awareness and ownership bridged by a willingness to change!!! Awareness of self, personal goals, expectations, and your current level of health begins to move you along the constant continuum of achieving life-balance and adaptation. Taking ownership is the fuel that helps to carry you the rest of the way to maintaining that balance throughout your lifespan! Adopting this perspective is a Critical Success Life Factor (CSL-F)! Most people who do some of the right things to improve their health are unaware of and possibly fail to truly take ownership of the happenings within the "total spectrum" of their lives. Therefore, their personal resilience can become suspect and shaky during periods of trauma, grief, loss, major illness and disappointments!
When assessing the total spectrum of your life, it is important for you to begin by developing and implementing a 'personal self-care plan' to address every area of your life. For this, you must have a willingness to change! Always keep in mind that this is YOUR LIFE! Socrates once said, "An unexamined life is NOT worth living!" Therefore, it is necessary to be dialectical in your thinking and planning process to achieve an adaptive balance! Dialectical thinking challenges you to be creative, critical, and analytical in your thought process and will be essential in identifying your CSL-F and utilizing an adaptive self-care plan that matches YOU! Indeed, building your personal resiliency is a team process, so having the right support systems in place is key. However, YOU are required to take ownership of YOUR OWN total health and wellness!

You must be willing to be honest with yourself first in order to accept life-enhancing feedback from others who are truly there to support you, assist you and enable your growth! What do you do next? Access the total spectrum of your life! Define your true starting points in every area of your life.
